Process Training Unit will provide hands-on training for chemical process control students studying petroleum engineering, chemical engineering, and industrial engineering.
Ravenswood, WV – March 27, 2017 – Valtronics Solutions, a diverse manufacturing and services company within the natural gas, liquefied natural gas, natural gas liquids, petroleum and chemical industries, announces it has completed the Phase 1 fabrication of a Process Training Unit for West Virginia University Parkersburg campus (WVU-P), designed by Mid-Ohio Valley engineering firm, Pickering and Associates.
Chemical process control students will gain valuable experience with real-time measurement and control equipment to measure pressure, flow, level, and temperature utilizing programmable logic controller (PLC) hardware and software. The process unit was designed to enhance the educational experience and reflect real-world applications encountered after graduation.

This process training unit has been equipped with items from over 15 respected manufacturing industry partners. These complementary product lines enable a comprehensive process training unit design representative of a measurement or control “skid,” commonly found within the energy industry. The skid includes pneumatic pressure & temperature control, a Coriolis mass flow meter, smart level & pressure transmitters, liquid process control valves, and dozens of other commonly found components and systems.
