Hobré is a leader in the field of manufacturing, and maintenance of online analyzers, for natural gas and petrochemical markets. The contracted areas are the Mid-Atlantic region as well as the states that fall within the Appalachian region including OH, GA, SC, NC, TN, KY, DE, and MD.

Changes with the natural gas value stream, well locations, and end use require more analysis and more sophisticated analyzers, including sour gas. Sour gas is natural gas containing hydrogen sulphide (H2S), a potentially corrosive substance, which needs to be removed from the gas stream. Hobré produces an analyzer that detects and measures H2S levels accurately.”
Sour gas is natural gas containing significant amounts of hydrogen sulfide (H2S). If the sulfur present in gas is in the form of H2S it must be removed for safety reasons. Most natural gas has less than 1 percent hydrogen sulfide, but deposits have been discovered with more. Hydrogen sulfide is also corrosive, so that gas high in hydrogen sulfide requires special corrosion-resistant production equipment, as well as extra safety precautions.
It has been estimated that 15 to 25% of the natural gas in the U.S. may contain hydrogen sulphide and up to 30% Worldwide.
